Custom Ultrasound Reconstruction

Real-time capabilities of ultrasound devices distinguish it from other imaging devices. Advantages of Ultrasound includes color imaging using the Doppler effect, for normal 2D mapping and the real-time display of blood flow and other information modes. Real-time performance and higher image quality are largely improved through advanced computer processing in ultrasound devices. It is important to digitize the reconstruction function of previously analog ultrasound devices, but manufacturers have not found a standard yet, resulting in a variety of products with different levels of innovation.

TeraRecon's fully digital reconstructor not only provides efficient real-time processing on a multi-processor structure, but provides software level updates as well, cutting development and maintenance costs. In today's ultrasound device market, innovative, high-speed multi-channel 3D transducer probes are now appearing. These probes enhance information resolution of ultrasound devices for 3D viewing, improve diagnosis, and expand their clinical use. However, when it comes to 3D data acquisition, they lose the real-time features, which results in a delay of 15 seconds to several minutes to extract a single 3D image. When scanning with ultrasound devices, one can interactively view the pulsing heart in 3D and in real-time, and to set certain angles and cutting areas. By adding this function, TeraRecon offers 4D ultrasound diagnosis. For all next-generation ultrasound devices, fully digital processing systems performing in real-time will be the standard.
