TeraRecon launches ‘PreXion 3D’ Dental CBCT
Website
San Mateo, CA--August
17, 2007:
TeraRecon (www.terarecon.com), a leader in advanced imaging processing
technology and solutions, today announced the launch of a new dedicated
web site for its PreXion3D Dental CBCT scanner. The launch of the
www.prexion3d.com site coincides with the upcoming International Congress
of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) World Congress XXV and 10th Annual
IPS Symposium to be held from August 23rd to 25th 2007 at the Hyatt
Regency Hotel in San Francisco, CA.
TeraRecon Director of Dental CBCT Sales Sabine Nahme said, “We
are pleased to participate as Gold sponsor of this year’s ICOI
congress, where we will conduct ongoing demonstrations of PreXion3D
throughout the meeting including a scheduled afternoon workshop on
August 23rd in the “Seacliff D” room at 3:45 PM. During
this open workshop, participants can explore and discover the capabilities
and exquisite image quality of the PreXion3D scanner and its unique,
client-server software architecture which delivers advanced 3D visualization
to any PC in the dental practice. We will also demonstrate the export
of PreXion3D scan data to 3rd party implant planning software products.”
The PreXion3D scanner was introduced to the US market earlier this
year, with the first customer installation completed in June. To date,
approximately 50 PreXion3D units have been installed globally including
those in use by TeraRecon’s team of world-renowned luminary
advisors. Dr Arun K. Garg commented on PreXion3D: “After using
several scanners, the office staff and I agree that this is absolutely
the best one when it comes to image quality, ease of use, office space
utilization, and return on investment.”
The revolutionary PreXion 3D CBCT scanner obtains the most projection
images at high magnification, and as a result, achieves excellent
image quality and optimum balance between resolution and field of
view. Thanks to TeraRecon’s unique XTrillion processor, image
reconstruction is completed in 30 seconds for 512 projections or 90
seconds in high-resolution mode when 1,024 projections are obtained
in a single 360° rotation.
PreXion 3D has been designed for use in implantology, general dentistry,
oral-maxillofacial surgery, and periodontology practices. The accompanying
PreXion3D software includes real-time 3D visualization with exquisite
image quality, along with a real-time panoramic view to provide the
clinician with accurate assessment of bone and surrounding anatomy.
The software enables evaluation of potential implant receptor sites
and identification of the mandibular canal throughout a series of
cross-sectional images, allowing for highly accurate measurements
from the nerve to the crest of the arch or in relation to the maxillary
sinuses.
Affordably priced, the PreXion 3D scanner is designed for dental
offices that seek to perform in-office surgical implant procedures
and can be installed at almost any location that previously provided
space for a panoramic X-ray.
Networking
Thanks to the unique client-server 3D imaging technology developed
by TeraRecon and validated with thousands of clinical users worldwide,
PreXion3D is delivered equipped with Prexion3D Viewer which can be
installed on any PC in the practice for real-time access to all the
post-scan image review capabilities available on the scanner itself,
including 3D visualization, panoramic view, cross-sectional reconstructions
and marking of the mandibular canal. All this is achieved using real-time
streaming and hence does not require a powerful PC or time-consuming
transfer of the scan data to where the images are viewed. This convenient
feature saves on hardware costs for client computers, and removes
the delay of image transfer caused by the technology architecture
of competing technologies. For more information please go to www.PreXion3D.com.
