Press ReleasesTeraRecon Reports Growing Sales of 3D Imaging Workstations and Enterprise 3D Servers San Mateo, CA--January 26, 2004: TeraRecon, Inc. today announced strong growth in sales of the company's Aquarius line of products for medical imaging professionals. The company reported an 86% increase in sales bookings over the past twelve months compared to the previous twelve-month period. These strong results are indicative of the strong differentiation of TeraRecon's technology and product offerings over the competition, and the widespread market acceptance of its AquariusNET 3D enterprise server solution in the US and overseas. Recent US sales include Eisenhower Medical Center and The Desert Comprehensive Breast Center (Palm Springs, CA); Florida Hospital (Ormond Beach & Flagler, FL); Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center (Findlay, Ohio); Physicians Imaging Center (Fresno, CA); Baptist Medical Center (Jackson, MS); Balboa Navy Medical Center (San Diego, CA); and Straub Clinic and Hospital (Honolulu, HI). Additional orders were received from Kaiser Permanente (Honolulu, HI); Dickenson Hospital (Iron Mountain, MI); Providence Hospital (Mobile, AL); Medical College of Ohio (Toledo, OH); Mercy Medical Center (Canton, OH); Brotman Medical Center (Los Angeles, CA); West Valley Imaging (Las Vegas, NV); and Veterans Administration Medical Center (Atlanta, GA). Internationally, several hospitals selected TeraRecon for their enterprise 3D imaging needs including Credit Valley Hospital (Ontario, Canada), Martini Hospital and Groningen University Hospital, both located in Groningen, The Netherlands. "With the growing demands for advanced image processing and enterprise distribution in both larger and smaller institutions, TeraRecon is experiencing record growth through orders from a broad range of hospitals, from community healthcare providers to prestigious internationally recognized institutions, all of whom have decided to purchase TeraRecon solutions for their enterprise-wide volumetric review needs," said Robert Taylor, Ph.D, TeraRecon Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President. "It is now becoming a rare occasion when a customer purchases just a single workstation. The AquariusNET solution for enterprise wide 3D delivered directly into the diagnostic reading workflow is so compelling, almost every sale now includes the purchase of an AquariusNET server. We believe this is a clear indication of the growing understanding of the clear differentiation TeraRecon has achieved through our patented VolumePro 3D rendering technology." The AquariusNET server is powered by multiple VolumePro rendering boards, allowing a single server to provide sufficient rendering power for the enterprise, accessed through client software running on PACS review stations or regular PCs throughout the enterprise. Through this client-server relationship, an everyday PC can be used by a radiologist to manipulate 2000-slice CTA run-off examinations in real-time, without ever having to route the study to the radiologist's location. The power of a single AquariusNET server cannot be matched in a single, reliable server enclosure by commodity processors and off-the-shelf graphics hardware, a feature that has won AquariusNET a clear lead as the best-in-class solution for enterprise-wide 3D rendering.
