TeraRecon receives Frost & Sullivan Award

San Mateo, CA--March 3, 2003: Frost & Sullivan, a global growth consulting firm, has presented TeraRecon with their 2002 Market Engineering Product Differentiation Innovation Award in their recently published "U.S. 3D Imaging Markets" report, number A378-01, dated January 2003. This award is presented each year to the company that has best demonstrated the ability to develop advanced products with more innovative capabilities than competing vendors and products. The award recognizes TeraRecon's successful adoption of new or existing technology that has become a part of its well-designed product family. Such innovation is expected to significantly contribute to the medical imaging industry in terms of product performance and rate of change.

TeraRecon offers the Aquarius family of advanced diagnostic workstations (the Aquarius Workstation), 3D enterprise servers (AquariusNET), and super-high resolution integrated multi-modality display systems (Personal Digital Light Box, or PDLB). The company's products are differentiated by the uniquely powerful VolumePro processor for real-time volumetric processing of medical images, and are targeted at diagnostic radiology and cardiology departments and imaging facilities. The company's AquariusNET Server offering provides high-performance, cost-effective, enterprise-wide access to advanced image processing, for multiple radiologists and referring physicians concurrently. This client-server paradigm for advanced processing in medical imaging shows great promise in reducing the cost and increasing the availability of the advanced diagnostic tools which are becoming ever more essential as modern medical imaging technology advances. Frost & Sullivan's research methodology includes their analyst team tracking competing market participants' product differentiation strategies through on-going research. This research consists of market participant interviews, end-user surveys, and extensive secondary research. The data is compiled through this research and analyzed based on specific measurement criteria for this market-engineering award. Participants are ranked with respect to the measurement criteria. As the award recipient for the 3D imaging market, TeraRecon is ranked number one in the industry in this category, according to Frost & Sullivan.
