TeraRecon launches the Aquarius NetStation
for both local and distributed 3D processing at RSNA
San Mateo, CA--November
21, 2001: TeraRecon
announced the launch of a new offering, the Aquarius NetStation, which
will be showcased at the upcoming Radiological Society of North America
(RSNA) exhibition in Chicago, November 25th 2001. (TeraRecon booth:
8525). The Aquarius NetStation represents an upgrade to TeraRecon's
Aquarius Workstation which adds the 2D and 3D client-server streaming
capability of the company's AquariusNET 3D capable PACS offering.
"With the introduction of the Aquarius NetStation,
we believe we have finally struck the chord that will ring true with
radiology professionals today," said Robert Taylor, Executive Vice
President of TeraRecon. "Radiologists have been frustrated with the
limitations of current 3D offerings for some time now, a frustration
we at TeraRecon have understood well and are now able to address.
While conventional 3D workstations offer beautiful 3D imagery, and
powerful image post-processing tools, there has been no truly effective
way to communicate the findings and certainly the experience of 3D
review to the radiologist's audience - referring physicians, colleagues
and patients. Through the power of our VolumePro real time volume
rendering system, and our AquariusNET streaming technology, we are
finally able to extend 3D review beyond the workstation itself, and
on to any networked PC connected to the workstation. A thin client
application can now be launched which will connect to the workstation,
and offer an interactive 2D, 3D and even 4D review session for the
studies present there. Interactive reports can now be constructed,
where a Microsoft Word document can be e-mailed to a physician, with
embedded live 3D images that the physician can manipulate and control
directly, with all the processing performed remotely across the network
on the Aquarius NetStation."
The Aquarius NetStation is targeted to imaging
centers, clinical specialty workgroups, and hospital radiology departments.
The product is available now, and will be showcased along with the
entire range of TeraRecon's progressive offerings in booth #8525 at
the upcoming RSNA exhibition in Chicago. Existing Aquarius Workstations
can easily be upgraded to Aquarius NetStations.
