TeraRecon announces explosive interest
in next generation CT reconstruction technology at RSNA 2000
San Mateo, CA--November
29, 2000:
TeraRecon announced today
unprecedented interest in their next generation CT reconstruction
technology at the Radiological Society of North America exhibition
in Chicago, Il. TeraRecon is engaged in the development of highly
advanced, proprietary hardware and software technology for medical
imaging applications, particularly extremely high-speed reconstruction
of CT images.
"CT technology is evolving at a phenomenal
pace, with ever-increasing acquisition speeds and resolution. Modern
CT scanners feature multiple detectors operating simultaneously, and
the trend towards increasing detector numbers and 'cone-beam' CT systems
with even greater output is apparent", said Motoaki Saito, M.D., President
and CEO of TeraRecon. "This unprecedented rate of data acquisition
has generated an intense demand for a new generation of reconstruction
technology to process the information in an acceptable time so that
diagnosis and review can begin without delay. TeraRecon's powerful
proprietary core HISC technology provides the means to make such advances
in CT technology possible, and we are very pleased to announce that
at RSNA 2000 we have experienced a new high in the level of interest
in our technology."
