RTViz introduces VolumePro Net network
2D/3D imaging engine for hospital workgroups
San Mateo, CA--November
26, 2000: Real Time
Visualization (RTViz) today introduced VolumePro® NET, a shared
visualization engine that serves real-time 2D/3D images simultaneously
to desktop computers over a hospital network.
VolumePro® Net combines the high performance,
superior image quality and collaboration capabilities of high-end
3D workstations with the cost-effectiveness, scalability, and location
independence of software-only solutions. VolumePro® NET is intended
to address the growing need for high performance real-time 3D visualization
for clinical specialties.
"VolumePro® Net is providing the infrastructure
to proliferate interactive, high quality 3D images throughout the
hospital," says RTViz General Manager Jamie Jacobs. "It will deliver
workstation performance to the physician's desktop or laptop computer."
Ubiquitous 3D - VolumePro®
NET brings the power of a real-time 3D workstation to the physician's
desktop or laptop computer. The product enables collaboration by allowing
a 3D study to be manipulated and annotated on one station and simultaneously
viewed on other computers on the net.
Scalability, Performance and Image Quality:
VolumePro® NET can be scaled
to serve the imaging needs of any size workgroup. VolumePro®
NET is designed to intelligently manage imaging sessions to maximize
performance and enhance image quality.
VolumePro Family: The
VolumePro® family provides a continuum of medical imaging solutions,
starting with the award- winning VolumePro® 500 for dedicated
high performance workstations and, now, extending to network imaging
with VolumePro® NET. All members of the VolumePro® family
have the same application-programming interface (API) so that applications
running on VolumePro® 500 can easily be ported to VolumePro®
Net. The API is written for both C++ and Java clients.
Enabling New Clinical Applications
For the OEM, VolumePro® Net is available
with customizable Network Visualization Client/Server (NVCS) software.
This software provides the framework for the creation of new collaborative
clinical applications.
Benefits:
Highly interactive 3D imaging on any computer
Diagnostic imaging quality
Enhances collaboration and communication between radiology and
clinical specialists
Scalable to meet workgroup imaging needs
Seamless integration into existing hospital networks
Cost-effective workgroup solutions
